Blohm+Voss, founded in 1877 in the heart of the port of Hamburg, has been part of the Lürssen Group since 2016 and specialises in complex new build, repair and refit projects of various ship classes.
Dock Capacities of up to 351 metres in length
The Hamburg section of the River Elbe is a respected centre of shipbuilding excellence and the city is a perfectly placed hub for an extensive network of partners, suppliers, classification societies, technical services and specialised trades.
Blohm+Voss has massive docks for the repair of large vessels and covered floating docks that protect superyachts from the elements and prying eyes. The expansive shipyard covers over 450,000 square metres, including one of the largest graving docks in Northern Europe. The outfitting quays have 12 cranes with lifting capacities of up to 50 tons, and the equipment in the workshops includes various gantry cranes and lifting gallows.
The shipyard also boasts high-quality office and studio facilities for project managers, design teams and other members from a vessel’s team. Although the shipyard may cover a large area, the team is tight-knit and can handle the most complex projects working in cohesive synergy together.
